About Our Training Centre

Snettisham Beach Sailing Club (SBSC) is an RYA Recognised Training Centre and proud to offer a comprehensive list of courses for all ages and abilities. We aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment where opportunities to learn and develop sailing skills though RYA courses are delivered by a team of RYA qualified instructors. Also we deliver Powerboat training and First Aid courses to support water sport enthusiasts.

SBSC is unique along the North Norfolk coast in being the only RYA recognised Training Centre having access to both inland and marine waters. The clubhouse is situated on Beach Road which runs between the sea to the west and a lake to the east. On the lakeshore we have a fleet of Topper dinghies and a storage shed which houses our safety boats used in training. In addition, for younger sailors we use Optimist dinghies and to encourage more advanced, double-handed sailing we have RS Fevas.

Our instructor team is led by our Chief Instructor James Trim, SBSC has thriving junior sailing programme from which we are able to select and maintain our team of instructors through a series of in-house RYA Instructor training courses.
