Wednesday Club 

Wednesday Club is Snettisham Beach Sailing Club's weekly junior coaching programme, designed to help young sailors progress from early stage sailing embedding skills, instilling confidence to Sail in a range of conditions and disciplines. 

Open to junior members, Wednesday Club provides structured, instructor-led coaching in a fun, supportive and safe environment. Sailors are grouped according to their experience and ability, allowing them to develop at their own pace while building confidence on the water. 

Our aim is to provide a clear pathway from learning to sail through to becoming an active sailor who may choose to join of the club's established racing community or further develop their Sailing adventures towards social, cruising or perhaps Offshore activities. Sessions focus on developing practical sailing skills and seamanship, with further development opportunity those who choose, join our Pathway club race training program. Wednesday Club is divided into three groups: 

Improvers Group For sailors who can confidently sail around a triangular course and are looking to build their skills and confidence before moving into further skill development in Racing or other Sailing activity 

New to Racing For competent sailors who are ready to advance to the fundamentals of racing and take part in club competition for the first time, perhaps on the lake to start. 

Race Group For established club and regional racers who want to improve their race performance, tactics and boat handling, supporting transition to Sea, the Regional Race circuit, National events and beyond, whatever they choose. SBSC has sailors doing all of this. 

All sailors taking part in Wednesday Club will be expected to have at least a basic understanding of the parts of a sailboat and how to prepare their boat for the evening session. 

Sailors are encouraged to take ownership of their own development, with Instructors and Coaches providing guidance and support throughout their sailing journey. Wednesday Club training is primarily held on the lake, with occasional sea sessions when conditions are favourable for the further development of skills and confidence.Whether your child is taking their first steps beyond RYA training or striving to improve their results on the race course, Wednesday Club offers an enjoyable and progressive route to becoming a confident sailor and racer at SBSC.
