SBSC Payment Methods

Payments made to SBSC can now be made electronically via this website. There are 2 methods we are currently using:

1. Direct Debit via Go Cardless

Our new Club management system, Sailing Club Manager, collects Direct Debits using GoCardless (a direct debit bureau authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority). GoCardless has several advantages. The primary advantage for Members is that it can easily be used to pay for social events and other club activities booked through the website, not just membership and training/racing fees. The advantage to the Club is that using GoCardless does not require the Club to maintain a record of Members' bank account details. The payments through GoCardless are automatically set against the Members' account - saving time currently spent matching payments to invoices. Once set up, we will collect payment for invoices we have sent to you using a direct debit from your bank account. You will still receive an invoice from us and GoCardless will notify you three working days before payment is taken from your bank account. You can choose to stop the payment if you do not agree with the amount we have invoiced. To register with GoCardless, follow the link on the website under members area. Or if you are already logged into the website as a Member, you can click HERE and follow the instructions. You will need your bank account, sort code and account number and will also be asked to enter your name and address. If you have forgotten your password which enables you to log in to the Members Area of the website, please press the Forgotten Password link on the login screen and a new password will be sent to your email address. If you have any questions or encounter any problems, please call or email Guy Tasker (Treasurer) treasure.sbsc@gmail.com and he will be happy to guide you through.

2. Credit card via Stripe

Stripe are a payment platform that allows us to take all major credit cards in the manner you have become used to. Anyone involved with the processing, transmission, or storage of card data must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). Stripe has been audited by an independent PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry, so you should feel safe using this method of payment if preferred.
