Discover Sailing 2026
We are hosting an open day on Sunday, 10th May 2026, from 10:30-4 pm. If you have been thinking about learning to sail or if you are already a sailor and you are looking for a friendly, welcoming club to join and get involved with, then please do come along to see the club in action.
We offer a variety of membership options, and there really is something on offer for all of the family, both on the water and socially. We have full programme of events, including training courses for children and adults throughout the summer season and regular racing each week. From model yachting to powerboat training and women on the water sessions to accessible sailing in our Hansa dinghies why not come along and find out more?

Sailing taster sessions during the open day are £5pp for a 20min session; this fee is discounted from any membership or course bookings made on the day. Children Under the age of 8 need to be accompanied by an adult for taster sessions.
You may get wet feet and legs getting into and out of boats, so we suggest wearing old trainers/closed-toe footwear and warm layers (not jeans) if going afloat and bring a towel and change of clothes. We will provide buoyancy aids for everyone going afloat.
The bar will be open, serving drinks and snacks, the tide will be in around lunchtime, so you can watch boats out racing and Sirens at the Helm will be performing in the clubhouse from approximately 2:30 pm.
There will be discounts available on course bookings made on the day and on new memberships taken out on the day, too.
