Enterprise The Enterprise is a 4 metre sailing dinghy designed by Jack Holt. It is one of the largest classes in the world and this popularity is due to its excellent qualities both as a cruising and a two-man racing boat.
Our fleet at Snettisham Beach SC has a core group of sailors who race regularly and a few who are still learning to sail and prefer to cruise and maybe join in the occasional race.
We enjoy our racing and although we take it seriously we are not too serious; our objective is to enjoy ourselves on and off the water, so we aim to be good friends, helping one another grow in our sailing skills, enjoying the racing and each others company.
Every year we have an open meeting when many visiting boats come and compete and it is usually well attended and very much enjoyed by all.

Why sail an Enterprise?
One of the attractions of sailing an Enterprise is its simplicity; the layout is simple, the controls are few and easy to understand and novices can quickly gain enough basic knowledge to get sailing and yet it offers plenty of challenge to those wishing to develop their sailing skills.
Another attraction is the low cost of ownership, much lower than more modern sailing dinghies; it is quite possible to purchase an Enterprise in good racing condition for less than £1000 and a lot less for a boat in reasonable condition. Where as in some classes the age of the boat will have a significant effect on the boats performance, an Enterprise in good racing condition is competitive whatever its age.
